How are your products made?

We design and manufacture all of our products ‘in house’ from our office and workshop in Rotherham, near Sheffield.

We create the designs using graphic design software, then transfer the design to the software that controls our engraving machine.

Our manufacturing process begins with taking some birch plywood or solid pine, and painting it with 2 coats of eco-friendly paint or stain (plus a sparkle glitter glaze on our Christmas products). We then transfer the painted sheet to our state of the art CNC machine, which engraves the design into the wood.

Once the machine has done it’s thing, the products are all quality checked for any flaws - we only send out products we'd have on our own wall at home!

We then finish the products off by hand, sanding off any rough edges and giving it a final dust down.

Finally we drill in a hole on the back for you to hang it on the wall!

From start to finish the process takes around 3-4 days to give the paint enough time to dry and cure properly before we can engrave them. We take real pride in our process and love creating beautiful things to bring a smile to your face or put a spring in your step.

Do you ship internationally?

We don’t currently offer this service but we'll look to introduce this in the future. If you are desperate to ship one of our products overseas then please Contact Us.

Do you offer an express service?

Due to our products being made to order and the nature of our manufacturing process, it’s not possible for us to offer next day delivery at the moment. However, if you need something desperately, please send us a quick email to sales@apple-bee.co.uk and we'll see what we can do!

Do you offer bespoke products?

Yes! We make artwork for all manner of special occasions - weddings, anniversaries, new babies and more - alongside location specific designs. Please follow us on Social Media for further announcements (links below).

Can your products be used outdoors?

At the moment our products are for indoor use only. However we plan to introduce weatherproof products soon that you can put outside in your garden and next to your front door to welcome people into your home. Please follow us on Social Media for further announcements (links below).

Are your products eco friendly?

YES! We believe in looking after our planet and doing our bit, so we take pride in the fact that our products are very eco friendly.

Our birch plywood is FSC certificated meaning that the wood is harvested from forests that are responsibly managed, socially beneficial, environmentally conscious, and economically viable.

We use Earthborn and Thorndown paints which are made from all natural materials and are VOC free along with eco-friendly glitter for certain seasonal products.

All our packaging is fully recyclable, including the tape that we seal the boxes with.
